Background Combination hormonal contraceptives are widely used and available in various dosage forms. Thromboembolism is an established risk factor associated with the use of these agents, increased rates arterial thrombosis venous thromboembolism reported. Arterial occurs much less frequently more serious short-term long-term consequences. Aim We report a case aortic thrombus occurring secondary to NuvaRing concomitant smoking. There no other reports resulting from contraceptive vaginal ring (CVR) reported literature. Clinical Details This describes 35-year-old female patient disabling claudication, severe aortoiliac stenosis, end organ damage nearly occlusive identifiable source emboli. The patient's past medical history was significant for tachycardia tobacco disorder. Her scheduled medicines most notably included contraception. Oral anticoagulation initiated, agreed pursue cessation. Haematology consultation workup negative.
